Get ready for a 2-day adventure that will take you to the highest peak in South East Asia. The Mt Kinabalu Summit Trail is a mix of forest trails, root covered tracks, rocky inclines and wooden stairs, with ropes to guide you up the steeper slopes near the summit. Immerse yourself in nature as the scenery changes from montane rainforest to sub-alpine shrub and finally, the spectacular bare granite peaks of the mountain plateau. Watching the sun rise on the summit of Mt Kinabalu is a breathtaking and unforgettable experience, so put on your trekking shoes and go for it!

Pick up from hotel and transfer overland to Kinabalu Park. Upon arrival, proceed to Park Headquarters for registration and to meet up with your mountain guide at the reception counter. After a short briefing and preparation, commence your journey to Timpohon Gate to start your trek to Lemaing Hut (3230m). Check in to your dormitory room and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure to explore the surroundings.

Wake up as early as 2:00am for another 3 hour trek to the summit. There are ladders, hand railings and ropes to help you over the steeper parts. Reach your final destination at Low’s peak, the Summit of Borneo at 4095.2m to catch the magnificent sunrise. Don’t forget to take lots of photos to remember this experience! Descend back to Lemaing hut for a well deserved breakfast before continuing down to Timpohon Gate. Transfer to Park HQ and collect your certificate of achievement. After lunch, we return to Kota Kinabalu.

OUTSKIRT HOTELS PICK-UP & DROP OFF Policy
Additional charges of MYR 30 per pax are chargeable for outskirt hotels pick-ups.
Outskirt charges will be imposed on traveler that request to be picked up at hotels outside of Kota Kinabalu city area & 1Borneo Shopping mall area.

Raincoat or waterproof jacket
Warm clothing like fleece jacket, hiking pants
Change of clothes (you may not want to sleep in what you sweat in!)
Cap / beanie / head scarf (helps prevent heat loss, especially at night and in the early morning)
A small / lightweight towel

Torchlight (preferably a head torch)
Comfortable covered trail/ hiking shoes
Energy snacks e.g. chocolate, nuts, biscuits, sweets, energy bars
Sun protection - Sunglass, sun screen lotion, SPF lip balm (beware of the strong UV rays)
A small backpack to hold your things
A raincover for your backpack

To ensure a smoother booking, check-in & verification process for Mountain Torq’s itineraries, kindly take note of the followings:
1. Physical and Medical Requirement
1.1 All guest(s) booked on Mountain Climbing itineraries to be fit and healthy. Guest(s) will be required to meet the Sabah Parks’ minimum health regulation. Sabah Parks indicates that people with the history of heart disease, hypertension, chronic asthma, peptic ulcer, severe anaemia, diabetes, epileptic fits, arthritis, palpitations, hepatitis, muscular cramps, obesity and any other sickness that may be triggered by severe cold, exertion and high altitude is not encouraged to climb the mountain. 2. Minimum requirement for eligibility to stay in Pendant Hut
Guest(s) must be:

|Minimum 10 years old.|
IMPORTANT THING TO TAKE NOTE
Verification on passport (for non-Malaysian) or identity card (for Malaysian) will be required during the registration at Kinabalu Park office. Please bring it along with you to avoid any disputes.
