Itinerary

9:00am

Pick up from your Kota Kinabalu hotel. Proceed to Mari-Mari Cultural Village. Estimated time will be 45 minutes from Kota Kinabalu.

10:00am

Upon arrival at Mari-Mari Cultural Village, you will be greeted by village “Chief” and go through a “Welcome Ceremony”.

10:10am

Visit the 5 traditional homes of the following tribes: -

Dusun House. You will be briefed on the tools used in the olden days and the materials of the house itself. Also, will learn about bamboo cooking and Rice wine (Montoku) processing.
Rungus Longhouse. You will learn about how to start a fire without lighter and look into typical room of the tribe.
Lundayeh House. Demonstrations of producing ropes, vests, floors, walls from tree barks.
Bajau House. Watch the locals prepare Jala (Local Cake) and Pandan Juice.
Murut Longhouse. Watch a demonstration of blowpipe making and tobacco cutting. Watch the locals as they tattoo their bodies “manually”.

12:00pm

After visit the 5 traditional homes, you will watch a cultural performance, include some traditional dances from Sabah

1:00pm

Depart from Mari-Mari Cultural Village, transfer back to hotel.
